Textile Design for Nefertiti...

Another part of my project for "History of Art"- the ancient world.Done in 1987,as a student...This is a design for Nefertiti.Nefertiti was the wife of the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (later Akhenaten), and mother-in-law of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun. Her name roughly translates to "the beautiful one is come". She also shares her name with a type of elongated gold bead that she was often portrayed as wearing, known as "nefer" beads. Famed throughout the ancient world for her outstanding beauty, Nefertiti remains the one of the most well known Queen of Egypt.Copyrights (c)Nira Dabush...P.S:I definitely have personal plannes for this design ;-)...

Nira, my dear friend, this is amazing and delightful. The compositon and subtle inner framing insightful the backgound pushes the design towards you as a viewer. You cannot help but gaze at it with great favor. I am in love with this piece and the historiacal piece of history that you share. Grand and great work. miguel

Artist Reply: Dear MIGUEL,Hello...i'm glad you enjoy my textiles SO MUCH....It makes me happy.I'll tell you a little about the framing...the framing is a manipulation of a very old very small vase, that was belongs to my grandmother,Yole, who was born in Libya...and actually this Vase was brought with her ,when she came to Israel.Have a gorgeous day!!
