These are what I mean by watercolor markers. A combination of Crayola fine line and broad line markers, fibracolor markers which come in a set of 100 different colors, Tombow Brush pens which work like watercolor brushes for painting light colors that are more like washes and a set of Crayola markers called multicultural markers and for basic flesh tone crayola makes a marker called Sandy Tan. In addition I use special techniques to lay marker down so that it looks smooth not perfectly smooth but close I lay it down in rows not just scribbling it in. Then colored pencil or pastel pencils or oil pastel is used over it to create the polished finished version The result looks more painted airbrushed or smooth than just colored pencil, pastel or oil pastel would look. I also use white gel pen for detail or acrylic paint in small areas. Its my way of doing thingss Use whatever works to get the job done.
