Enjoyed looking at your beautiful watercolors!
Admired your gentle, loose style.

love the light and soft colour shades of this painting and how you managed to focus our attention towards the figure's head by increasing contrasts in that area
I love working from old phtos too...You did an excellent job...the style expresses the winter day so well...tinted with sheer colors the smile gently illuminates from the past to the present, unforgettable image!! Sweetly Haunting...I love the loose brushstokes that seem to fade in and out of time.

This could be a 1920s version of the famous (but subdued) "Mona Lisa smile." Nice atmosphere... You have some serious talent, Carrie.Christine brand 04 May 2006

I like the visceral feel of this... and the vignette approach of only painting what's important. Nice work here.Chris Williams 01 May 2006
