Heartsease are Wild Pansies, and as their name implies they were believed to have the power to heal heartache. As an herb, the leaves and flowers are an anti-inflammatory expectorant and are used in treating even extreme cases such as Whooping Cough and Bronchitis. This is the original unaltered photo-of a small patch from my garden.
