The lizard was ever present on the island where I grew up. Quick to run but slow in the sun. This one is basking on a hot rock near the beach. He sat there transfixed as if he was put in a state of none existence. When a lizard loses his tail in battle he grows it back. What a handy thing to have we should be so lucky and able to grow back a limb or two LOL

He's a beauty! I'll have to capture some lizards on photos for you. They will be out of hybernation soon and everywhere out here. I catch and release some, like the hrony toad lizards. They tend to freeze, not run. My dogs find them fun to chew. I love them, so relocate them in the garden where the dogs are forbidden. Outstanding art!Christine brand 14 Apr 2006
