Floating Vessels

Polite hands in mine/ A stronger grip/ than i anticipated./ Miles of difference/ between hands of old / and hands of new. / Gentle hands in mine. / Stories told / of another lifetime / that i lived / or could have lived. / Stories of strangers / that i never knew / but met through words. / Crossing borders / between my world / and.... / Worried hands in mine. / Gripping fingers, / troubled eyes, / genuine feelings. / With barriers surmounted / I can see right through / into wonderous terra: / Undiscovered territory, / lands of a kind of person / i never knew existed. / Warm hands in mine. / Laughing skin, / Veins full of secrets, / Understanding fingers. / Blood runs in them like the rivers. / Palms cupped to hold / what i thought didnt matter. / I come undone. / They still catch me / when i fall like rain. / True hands in mine. / Honesty in innocent actions, / a realness in firm grips, / and gentle ones. / They try. / But they also do. / Firm hands in mine. / Bottomless depths, / I lose myself. / In the street, / firm and gripping, / gentle, loving. / Iron protection / in thier simple flesh / and simple fingers. /
