One

Acrylic painting, with ink, pastel and collage, with wooden frame and nails embedded. My visual interpretation of U2's song "One". I see the song being about love, at its most compassionate and virtuous. various lyrics of the song are in the background, with images of religious/historical figures (Dalai Lama, Martin Luther King Jr., Jesus, Ty Palmer * my highschool art teacher*) inside the frame. 20 inches by 25 inches -done spring 2003 Copyright Jeff Ostrowski.

Artist Reply: thanks a lot... ALL of you. and i honestly have no idea what the music behind them is, it's been a while since i did it. and i have a habit of picking up weird bits of paper (music, flyers, etc.) and putting them in a folder, so who knows...

Artist Reply: thank you. and that was kinda the effect i wanted, to be almost able to read it, but mostly background. working on getting a zoomed in image that will maybe show the text a lil closer.
