Grandfather's Stories

The story behind the subject of the drawing is a native american university professor going through a tough time and falls back on her grandfather's legends and tales of their proud tribe to help her through present day trials and tribulations. This was a drawing that I was kind of experimenting with. Unfortunately, I made a wrong choice in paper. I used a waxy paper because i had run out of sketch paper and only had that stuff laying around, so I thought, what the heck. Well, what happened was that I had a VERY hard time getting any dark tones in the drawing. What I did get still was only partially satisfying. Some spots I got the dark values I wanted, while other spots just did NOT want to cooperate. Live and learn I guess! LOL
