The Little Chimney Sweep

I was just having a little fun with paper and put this whimsical illustration together...there is Scottish lore about the chimney sweep being a lucky omen! If a bride passed one on the way to her wedding it signified good luck. It's claimed that the old fashioned chimney sweep had magical associations with the family & hearth which are the very heart of the home.I dedicate this one to my late, Uncle Gene, who was a modern day chimney cleaner & yes, he had red hair! :-)

i get flashes of "the water babies" and "mary poppins". by the way, that good luck issue- i think must be something that covers the entire British isles as my parents are english and it's part of their heritage and i know some welsh who believe it as well. beauiful work kathryn.

A fine job done here putting this together. It must be quite time consuming with all of those details--even his proportions are correct--nice job! -Kerra
