These are a couple of stills from my award-winning animated short "Mr. Fly's 15 Frames of Fame." The backgrounds/characters were rendered in pen and ink with lots of crosshatching to attain a gritty, realistic style. The blurred effect seen in the background of the concession counter was created with various filters in Adobe After Effects. The location is based on my first job (at a movie theater) where I got permission to shoot reference footage.
