pale rose bloom

This is a created from scratch, digital painting I did of a rose from my garden. I used a wacom tablet and Painter Classi software. I used a mixed media of water, airbrush, watercolor, and soft chalks to get this soft look.

Beautiful Photo!!!!

Artist Reply: Thanks, since I paint on a computer, I can print out my artwork as a jpeg file. They look really nice on photo paper. I usually do the original size about an 8x10 size, so you only get to see on artwanted the littler version. It often makes my paintings look photish!

What an absolutely beautiful rose! The petals are spectacular! Great job on this!!

Artist Reply: Thank you!I struggled over if I should make ctronger, shaper details, but like the softer look for most of my work, especially roses.

this is so soft and delicate it looks like a painting, lovely shot, Lisa x

Artist Reply: Thank you Lisa! I use photos for reference shots to get the porportions and remember the details. Since I'm working on a computer, I can work faster, no dry time or clean up of paint, and if I make mistakes, I can undo and correct them. My paintings come out more realistic this way, like a soften photo, but it;s a handpainted rose, just done with a wacom tablet and wirless stylu pen. Could never paint with a regular mouse!
