I have been trying to get this shot for quite a while. I have plenty of shots of them catching fish but this is the first time I got the eye of the Heron. F2.8, ISO 100, Shutter 1/1000, Focal length 200mm
What a great rare picture - sometimes people use the phrase "frozen moment", but I would call it a "frozen movement" - as every pixel in it breathes the action!
Fantastic wildlife shot. You still had to be pretty close to the action to catch this with a 200mm lens! Love the way the heron's eye is framed by his wing feathers.
