Dig In

Sandpipers have sensory nerve endings near the tip of their bills, enabling them to sense food as they probe blindly into sand and mud. This sandpiper, unfazed by the cold water, looks for his supper as the glow of the sunset reflects off the wet sand. Taken February 2005.
