Stealing

Pencil sketch, Digitally enhanced photomontage. Corel Paint File, 2247 x 1776 pixels, True Colour 24bit, October 2005, Unframed. In my visual diary I've written a collection of about 9 poems (for want of a better term) of which 'Stealing' is one. The poems are all based on the themes of addiction, faulty technology and the idea that we're paying for more and more things that have no material/physical form. Each poem is a glimpse into a life set a short time into the future. 'Stealing' is about a girl who is addicted to virtual worlds. She lives her whole life from her bed, plugged into a network that lets you live your dreams. Just like interet access today, connecting costs and the easiest way to pay is with credit. But what happens when the credit dries up and a gliche in the software finds the best solution is to terminate the user with a blast sensory overload?

TET.....BW wants to let you know - she loves this! The poem is amazing... You've come a long way in a few years, my friend....and you've inspired me to get back to my painting table! Wish I had a shed tho...
