This is a postcard that I had to give a try. Anyone with any great links or suggestions for painting water let me know. I hate the water.

Whenever I'm struggling with a particular aspect of a painting I like to look at the masters for ideas. I did some work on water a few years ago, I can't remember if I've got anything on my profile of it though, lol! I'd suggest you check out Monet, David Hockney, Winslow Homer and Turner. I like the water, it looks translucent . There is movement and shading and reflection. I think you are on the right road alrerady. Practice will give you that standard that you personally, are looking to achieve. In my opinion this is a super painting! Well done!Tara Corbett 03 Jan 2006
Well, I think the water is nice. It shows motion, so it is fine. Check out some of the other artists on site and E-mail them.
