Dark Fairy

This is a watercolor painting I worked on for many days. Yes I know, I am a slow painter. But I guess I´m pleased with the result.

Looks like pencil more than watercolor, because of the precise details. The fairy's angle does not give away sex, and I think that's perfect! I like the colors on the wings but the wings seem to be the harshest part of the whole painting. Wonderful work. Turned out beautifully.

Artist Reply: Thank you Sarina. I tried to make this painting as detailed as I could and I used grey pencil before I got to the watercolor, that might explain it. But I also think it might be that I use watercolors in my own way. I must confess that the perfect aspect of not giving away the sex, is hmmm, how do I explain in an artistic way? "Because of the quality of my scanner." *ashamed* In the original painting you see a very subtile line that indicates the female genitals. I hope you´re not too dissapointed now. ;)
