Pillow Talk

Size: approx. 10" x 15" Medium: Mixed Media (Acrylics, Watercolors & Colored Pencils) Like many of the women in my works, this pin-up girl is basically made up from my imagination: an amalgamation of features & characteristics I find pleasing in a woman. While I did use a couple of references to get the pose and features more realistic, this lady doesn't really exist in real life as she is seen here. I must admit I enjoyed 'creating' her, but I prefer real woman as opposed to the fantasy, idealized ones. As far as I'm concerned, women come beautiful in every shape, size, color and creed.

This is very sexy and beautiful. Great work.

Artist Reply: Thanks again! I am beginning to do a bunch of new pin-ups for an artbook that a publisher is interested in doing. He likes my work and may buy as many as six for his book before summer! (fingers crossed...!)

Beautiful, Richard. I do not believe you that you would prefer really fat women:). Your eyes and mind are tuned to this type. I would not be surprised if your wife is a model or actor:).

Artist Reply: Believe it or not, I have had what today's society considers 'overweight' women as girlriends. And what attracted me to them most was their personalities, as opposed to ther figure & looks. Unfortunately, like society, pin-up and fantasy art illustration editors (including videogames, and the like...) caters to a certain look to attract viewers: the look they prefer is slender, sexy and idealized. To them, it's what sells. I'll be posting some of my own personalized artworks later to note the differences. By the way, I've dated models in the past, but my last girlfriend (who we spent many years together...) was an 'average', working woman; not an actor or models at all. To me, she was gorgeous...

Pretty good from your imagination. great title by the way.

Artist Reply: Appreciate it! I tried to keep in mind a certain look for today's model, but it was enjoyable referring, imagining, & amalgamating the elements together.
