Lexington Green

It looks like an empty field now. This was the first battle that took place in the Revolutionary War. The British lined up on the right and the Minutemen on the left and only the British fired and killed the first minutemen here. The houses in the picture are original to the period. Paul Revere was there and wrote the "shot heard round the world" was fired from the side of one of these houses and the war began.
