Rein church

This church is situated in Rissa in my part of Norway. I have never seen this church before and I know for the moment very little abouthistory of this church. This is a copy of the original church how was building during the time of Duke Skule, about 1180. This is in the end of the Viking period in Norway. Tower on the church show for me a direct link to Russia, Novgorod region was in the time of Viking Gardar kingdom with much Swedish and Norwegian Vikings. This type of church from this time we also to day is finding in this part of Russia.

How very picturesque! The spire is so very different from what one would find in the United States, it's very pretty. The history of this little church is fascinating. Great shot!
