The Mad Hatter

I have recently discovered the writings of Gregory Maguire , an author that revisits classic fairytales and adds a more human charcter to those in the stories. I love the books, and they have inspired me to do some revisiting to some of my most favorite tales. The Mad Hatter is somewhat of a self portrait although not a total likeness. I connect most with his absent mind. I will be selling prints of this piece on ebay, check out my store through the website.

Hey! this is one of my favorites of yours...more personal then some of the others. Excellent forms on the shirt, seems to be brewing that tea right from the heat of his Soul. So much meaning in this it's incredible. I love the MAD HATTER...IT IS SO NICE TO BE INSANE...NO ONE ASKS YOU TO EXPLAIN...HEHEHE! WONDERFUL INTENSITY IN THE COLORS AND EMOTION. HE HAS GREEEEEN TEA...MAYBE?! AT LEAST HE IS DRINKING HEALTHY. Just interjecting crazy stuff for fun...this sets the mind to a whirl. I love the glass and the way you can see through the cup to his clothes. Fabulous work! I could go on and on but, won't. Don't want to bore you.
