This photo was taken from Ladner,British Columbia on the 19th of July,2005.No other mountain in a very large area of south-western B.C and north-western Washington State maintains this much ice and snow at the height of summer.During the winter of 88/89 Mount Baker ski area received 1140 inches of snow setting the world record for snowfall.Vancouver is very fortunate to have this spectacular vista to the south.Air laden with moisture after it's journey across the Pacific ocean is forced to ascend the Cascade range,frequently dropping significant snowfall accumulations.
