The Revolving Perception of Multiplying Tactics

In this chess pencil work i wanted to convey the miriad of tactical elements by representing the geometric orbit of the pieces and the surreal viewpoint of these elements. I have created many layers of symbolic interpretations of the game while attemtping to fuse color, form, and these elements into a dynamic of movement and surreal abstraction. The hands in the center circling the orb represent the human interaction amidst the structure and infinite laws and pattersn that govern the game. Copyright 2005 by Imaginative Pencil and myself. Great coloured pencil work Justin, this pricks a memory in the back of my mind but I can't think what. I really like this, it's a completely different technique to what I use with my pencils. But then you've got an imagination quite unlike mine.........I wish I could recall that memory.

An amazing piece of work. Full of meaning and symbolism. I particularly like the hands. They suggest to me the 'sleight of hand' that can distract the players from their strategy and interfere with their concentration on the patterns that rule the game! Interesting!
