I have this odd facination for what I considered minimalist paintings ... where less says more and can be very powerfull even if there's hardly anything there ..... Then I got a review, so to speak from an accomplished writer and he told me that it was hardly minimalist as the painting had all the normal ellements for a scene of it's type ... He described it as a ZEN painting ... I was very gratefull for his words as I read them and realized that yes ... it does give me a feeling of zen ... a state of calmness and tranquility, and peace .... I hope I've pulled this off with this painting of a Mallard drake and Hen swimming together on a fairly calm lake.
