Red pansies surrounded by what looks like flames of fire. This was created in color pencil from a photo I took of these exact pansies in my garden. Prints are 8"x10" and giclee quality on acid free heavy paper. ©2003

Wonderful colored pencil work! I like the way you have muted the greens, so that the pansies really stand out.

I've spent a lot of time with these flowers and you have rendered them briliantly. I like the complimentaries of the red petals and green leaves, and the yellow with the violet. The detail is spot on.

Artist Reply: Thank you for stopping by Timothy! :) It's funny you should say that about the RED petals and the GREEN leaves because I had this judged at an art center competition and the judge only gave me a red ribbon because she said she did not like the red petals against the green leaves... so you made my day! :)
