When a Great Blue Heron poses for you it makes you feel very privileged to be in his presence. No matter where you follow them to their eyes are never off of you for more than a second or two. In this series of painted layers, masking, channel separations, filters and extensive use of digital paint brushes, Thom's original digital photo of the Great Blue and the magical moment has been transformed into this colorful painting.
