"mandracchio" is an old word meaning "fortified harbour" and many adriatic sea towns have such a feature. This is the mandracchio in Muggia. My mom used to live in the yellowish house in the middle :) Messed around with watercolours.

Great job, Cristina! Even though you don't share my opinion *sigh*, I love the shading and the colours are gorgeous. The only criticism I have to make about this pic is this empty space under the arch. As a previous commentor already wrote, it's a bit of a pity for the composition. wow, very dry... I like it. It has a clean feel rather then cluttered and disorganized. I like the composition, but it is still a little strong to the right side of the image. Try turning the image upside down and thinking about composition on those terms. It'll be easier to see your strong and weak areas. Nice watercolor.joan warburton 02 Aug 2005
