Eyes of a Tiger

Ok I'm uploading this one because Dad recently told me that he really loves it. Another earlier piece.

He came to visit from PA a few weeks ago and his wife told me about how Dad just sent this one out to everyone he had an email address for. The whole list. "Even people who hate us got an email of this one because your dad is so proud of it." She added, "They even write back, saying 'Your daughter is very good! We still hate you but she's terrific!'"

I don't know how that's possible but it's a funny story!!

I live in Wisconsin and my mother used to do the bookeeping for believe it or not Mars Cheese Castle. Yup, Wisconsin and cheese. The owner of the "castle", Mario Sr. loved my work and one of his best friends was the famous artist, George Pollard. Pollard used to come in all the time and visit. One day I'd just finished this pencil drawing and sent it to work with my Mom to show it to Mario Sr. He loved to critique my stuff! Suddenly George Pollard the artist who painted JFK, Eleanor Roosevelt, The Pope's official vatican portrait... small stuff... walked over to her desk holding the drawing.

"Ruth, it doesn't get any better then this he said." Mom called me at home when he went in the other room and told me about it. "He said he loved the way you vignetted it out." I asked, "What's a vignette?" She whispered, "I don't know but that's what he said."

Great memories of my first endeavors! I'm glad they still please my family! Thanks for stopping by!

Great job on the details! When I first saw the thumbnail, I actually thought this was a black and white photo - very well done indeed!

Really awesome work. Just stunning! I could never manage to make my hand draw what I saw in my head. I think that's why I like taking photos so much. Very well done. :)
