A Stroll Along the Lake

This is known as a Grizzly or Brown Bear. The Grizzly has the distinct Hump on it's back(yes as in Igor)this is how you can tell a black bear from a brown bear/grizzly. A black bear can be black, brown, blonde, cinnamon in coloration but it will never have this hump. The other way you can tell is the face is more of a pie face shape where the black bear is a bit more elongated. Also if you look at the bears coat, the grizzly has this kind of wet look or grizzled looking hair ,which is why it got the name grizzly.. This is probably about a four/five year old bear. This one is out foraging for food along the lake. This was taken with a telephoto lens as you really do not want to get too close to a grizzly who is capable of running up to 35 mph ,,, and you can't. To give you a perspective. Marion Jones --- Mode of Speed: Sprinting Claim to Fame: Winner of Three Olympic Gold Medals Top Speed: 23 miles per hour
