Kristina- thanks for your comments on my "After the Rain" which are much appreciated...I do admire everything about this self portrait and impressed that you have managed to achieve such high art with just the computer. Wonder if the image was produced first in real charcoal and then digitalized in color or what? Very nice however accomplished.
I'm a sucker for self portraits. I think they reveal much about the artist as a person and an artist. The technique is refined. The vision is not toward the viewer, but away. And the context is bathed in a blue light with no realistic context. (good contrast for purple and yellow).
Another Christina... or Kristina... :) Your portfolio is wonderful - diverse and talented. I love your use of color on this piece. So many portrait artists are afraid to use vibrant colors where they think there should only be "skin color". :) Well done! Brave to venture into self portraits too... I'm not yet that courageous! :)
