Arakawa Reflections

The Ara River, or Arakawa as it is called in Japanese, is the main river flowing through Saitama Prefecture. The river starts at the border to Yamanashi, flows through the Chichibu Mountains, crosses the Kanto Plains and empties into Tokyo Bay. My favourite area is deep in the mountains where the river is but an active stream. Here a telephoto lens was used to isolate an area on the river's surface where ripples were distorting the autumn reflections. Minolta 801si alpha, 300mm lens, Fujichrome Velvia, no filter, no colour manipulation. Copyright Peter Skov
