Paradise Bird

You can understand why this flower is called by such an exotic name. Bird-of-paradise (Strelitzia reginae) is a native of South Africa. This now popular plant bears a unique flower that resembles a brightly colored bird in flight, giving it the common name, bird-of-paradise. This shot was taken with natural light with a 2-second exposure on a tripod.
