Portrait of Amanda

This portrait was completed in Acrylic on 22"X28" linen canvas for a couple from New York. When the baby came for sittings it was extremely difficult to capture her becuase she was very hyperactive. I finally caught this expression and she held it for a while and decided to paint it. The couple were very pleased with the resemblance. I used very fine sable brushes with thick paint out of the tube for a rich lush detailed effect. It was my first attempt at portraiture and i finally got a new digital camera and was able to get a decent photo to upload. Many more paintings to follow. Copyright Justin Michael Jenkins. Unique portrait,Justin...well ...babies at this age can't really pose,I guess so really you've done great job to capture her expression...you must be very quick ...Beautiful brown eyes,I wonder if she got her father or mother's eyes...anyway in a way she reminds me your portrait :-)...

hmm i have only done two pencil sketches of babies..but they were few months old..so they stay put..heeh..have not have a chance to paint one..I assume it will be very difficult..I like the composition of your piece...it goes with your style..main features of the babies are big heads and big eyes something u might have missed :)..but overall..nice very nice
