Mysterion

Temple of Calliope: Muse of the dead. He arrived dead at spiral castle Carrying his earthly weapons of war Too late to seek Her love in Mysterion Beyond his burning trireme throne of death He found only the lives of those who came before. Sealed into her eternity: false Gods of sea and sky All to Her castle stable door are called No map could prove his course where scorpions crawl Only first that he must live and die. Go be with her, forget these tragic hours Another vessel waits to rest your helmet and your sword The books of old, the gilded lily flowers Beckon you to take your place among her stories yet untold. So inside Her holy writ he shall remain Beyond the wooden World from where he came To stand at last alone and plain Here: No happiness need be won These things have already been lost or done This is and always will be a bargain with no gain. Yet all this need not be so Since from eternity we came Phantomink Illustrations and poetry. Greg baker
