Anaji-Tanu War 2

Waaay waaay long before my story actually starts, the tanu invade the then-peaceful interstellar territory of the anaji. The anaji struggle against the alien invaders but cannot hold them off for long. As a last ditch attempt to save themselves, they push their homeworld, Ryi, into the psyscoric plane, hoping to avoid tanu detection, but they are followed. Arms-Commander Azhin and his daughter Arden command the anaji resistance fleet in hiding, and over the course of hundreds of years continue their hit and run attacks on the tanu. But with Ryi gone and most of their population massacred, the war is one without hope. The tanu created the Takisi Garden races from the anaji genome, and the anaji saw the illegitimate children as their own and attempted to protect them. Arden was dispatched to the first of the child races' system to build a weapon to dissuade the tanu from returning, a weapon she named Mars. Meanwhile, her father Azhin had devised a plan, a way to disable the tanu war machine - kill the da'si, the core intelligence controlling the hordes, by exposing it to the only thing that could kill it - anaji blood. To do this quickly enough to kill it, he would have to discorporate his body into the da'si proxy's body, killing himself. He would also need a significant distraction to accomplish this, and decided that it was worth the risk to take the entire resistance fleet, minus Arden and her ship, the Azhas, to battle the tanu over Ryi. Azhin sacrifices himself, but the da'si does not die, is only paralyzed with the pain. And so the fleet opens fire on Arms-Commander Azhin's ship, destroying it and killing the da'si while it is unable to escape. The price of this victory was costly, however, as the mindless tanu still rampaged through the fleet, killing everyone. The sole survivor of the anaji was Arden, lost without an idea what she should do. Knowing that the mixed races of Takisi Garden would need guidance in the event of a re-evolved da'si, she put herself into cryo-stasis aboard her ship, but not before she took one last look at Ryi, abandoned by the tanu hordes in their murderous slaughtering of each other without the da'si's commands. She saw the beauty and splendor of her ancient home, standing despite the ravages of the tanu, and declared the anaji victorious over the shattered remains of her homeworld.
