A portrait of a Dorothy Parker type glam woman, the life of the party, in the spotlight, but off kilter as though she's about to fall. In the background you can see her inner child at different ages, the openly unhappy toddler, and the sullen adolescent. The glitz on the surface can't stifle the unhappy child within. The depth of color in the background was achieved with multiple layers of paint cut with a gel medium.

i use the gel too..love that stuff : ) wonderful painting with the background patterns.. very edgy work geri and always a treat to see your works.. : )
