long gone 3742

There used to be lots of places by the Don river I loved. Now they've all gone giving way to the shapeless high-rises. Long live photography!

So sad when that happens, Nikolay : ( We lost a lot of cool buildings where I grew up. Your photography is always interesting . The eyes go straight to the ? then to the woman and her dog .

Artist Reply: Thank you for your thoughts, Dave!

I do believe that architecture begins to take on the collective personality of the generation that produces it. You have to be a true minimalist to see anything but boxes stacked upon boxes these days, Nikolay. Yes, photography is a great visual recorder of the moment. And moments have a habit of slipping into the past. :)

Artist Reply: Photographs help show succeeding generations see and estimate what the previous one saw thus building up an certain unbroken flow of facts you may call history
