This painting is part of a series of watercolour sketches done while on vacation in the Rocky Mountains not far from Calgary Alberta Canada. The weather was cool and clear making a perfect setting for painting en plein air.

Artist Reply: It would be challenging to paint there in the depth of winter. This one was done in the late winter.
