very nice photograph of this cute bird

Artist Reply: Yes and they are, to say the least, NOT native to Arizona, in fact I would think they would have perished by now but they are thriving. There are many stories on how they came here, all pretty much the same, someone brought them here and one day they got out or were let out. Phoenix is NOT an area for Lovebirds, but maybe that has changed now. I've lived in many neighborhoods all over town and have heard them and or seen them in over half of those. Peachface Lovebirds are their name I guess. There's an FB page dedicated to them, based here in town, so it would have Phoenix and Lovebirds in the name. Sorry, can't remember it, but many pics there of them as well.

Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful colours and perfectly captured. POD.

Artist Reply: Thanks Laura, I was lucky to get it I think. They're in my hood but usually I only hear them doing fly overs, even had to go into a neighbor's yard to get this shot...with my lens anyway.

Excellent photo of this parrot.

Artist Reply: Thank you Debra, we're lucky to have them in the hood

Oh he is an absolute beauty! Love how you've photographed him with the orange flowers.

Artist Reply: Thank you Liz. Lucky I guess, and I guess I need to plant some in my yard, because that's where I want them, not in someone else's yard, lol. Lantana is what that's called, comes in a few colors, red, what's photographed, yellow, orange and I've seen a light purple, but hard to find sometimes. You can buy the trailing or leading kind? One grows more like a bush and the other grows outward on the ground. If you live in cold weather climate probably NOT a good thing to grow outside :)

WHAT A BEAUTY. WONDERFUL SA.

Artist Reply: Thank you Joanie. These guys are hard to get. They're not even supposed to be able to live here, too hot. Someone years ago set some free (as the story goes) and they've flourished in hood's all across the valley. Thanks again Joanie
