I read as far back as the nineties that contemporary life is becoming quite insane. I made a mental note of that article in, I think, the New York Times, and moved on. Little did I know how insane it would become. I am reminded of an eighties tune by Fun Boy Three called, "The lunatics have taken over the asylum." It was a fun and catchy tune. I wish I could the same about our current reality. Most would say it's anything BUT. This is an 8.5 by 5.5 inches gel pen drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. It is another reason why I think The Joker was right when he made his face 'forever happy' in the comics. Remember folks, he isn't real but another joker IS. Original Jones Art still trying to make headway in a sea of lunacy here in northwest Austin, Texas. Does anyone have a plunger I can borrow?

Wonder if delusion is illusion with the negative sign, Charles. Same as atheism and "theism". Compared to the lifelong of dogs we live too long, however dogs are way happier and more content because they seem to hardly have any de- /illusions at all. Sorry for confusing your place of habitat. Still I go back to keeping my illusions. Best to your start of the week.

Living with illusions is stupid, but living without is boring. Similar about lunacy. Unfortunately, the one who knows that is never an illusionist:)) or lunatic. How's your Eastern Texas, Charles?

Artist Reply: We all buoy ourselves with some illusion and/or delusion, Nikolay. It's what keeps us somewhat functional in the world we find ourselves in. We find a niche and cling to it, come what may. It's too bad humans have such short lifespans. About the time we see things more clearly we are considered redundant and put out to pasture. I'm in Austin which is considered Central Texas. BUT I was born and raised in Northeast Texas. I'm keeping myself afloat with work---it's just a delusion that works for me. Hope you are doing fine. :)

Well isn't he the dysphoric gent ? Nicely drawn though. : ) Perhaps it's still the same scary world as when I was a kid, hearing when JFK, MLK and RFK were all assassinated. Have you seen the movie "Idiocracy" a great film by Mike Judge ? Seems like we're headed that way too sometimes. Well as Eric Idle sang, always look on the bright side of life.

Artist Reply: You didn't get into that single malt scotch, did you, Dave? Seems the stuff that hit the fan in the 60's had a better smell to it than what's flying about now. I'm a bit older than you are, remember. Anyway, keep that optimistic streak. Just don't wear those rose-colored glasses, eh? Hope all is good up your way. :) PS: Yes, I saw that movie---prescient.

Artist Reply: You may be on to something, Ray. Maybe a touch of irony has been included. Hope you and Raven will be very happy, BTW. :)
