This is another painting I did for my upcoming show at Western State University here in Gunnison Colorado. Although it is not a painting of a specific place it is from my memories of the first years living here and the feelings I got from the surrounding cliffs. All throughout this area are dramatic mountains, cliffs, lakes and streams. A dramatic landscape features rugged hills with warm, earthy tones under an expansive, colorful sky. Rich, swirling clouds create a sense of movement and contrast with the textured terrain.
