Hoar Frost coated Tree on Hillside early morning between Julian California and Lake Cuyamacha.
Hoar frost forms when water vapor in the air touches a solid surface that is already below freezing. The freezing process is so quick that it traps air, giving it a white or silver opaque appearance.
