Red Neon Sunset

Painted on a 16 inch round wood panel. Shown mounted within its black frame. Bottom below horizon is painted over holographic film that has to be seen in real life to do it justice. Very difficult to show in a still or a video. It changes color as you move in the room. The colors are gorgeous as they catch the light. The holographic areas shine between opaquely painted ocean waves. The neon paints in both the sky and on the water glow under blacklight. During evenings at home, we sit where we can see one of my other paintings highlighted with neon paint lit by a UV light light strip. Stunning!

Very color intensive sunset, Joyce. I was wondering how that Himmy 'kitten' is getting along. Had a girl friend in the long ago who had one, very hairy and very cross-eyed. But sweet. Hope you are doing great. :)

Artist Reply: Glad to see you had a look, Charles. Thank you for your comment. Yes, I was inspired by other artists. I'd like to start using water mixable oil paint soon. Just received my order for some. The Himmy passed away a few years ago at about 21 years old. We loved her and miss her, her brother, and the other kitty that wasn't related. No more cats in the household since their passing. The fur was very high maintenance. Her eyes weren't crossed. They were beautiful.
