Lillies, Brass Vase, Blue Velvet

Painted from the still life in studio in one session. 18" x 14" oil on canvas. Impressionistic slashes of color and painted the session before the pastel I did of the a similar scene ( slightly different variety of lilly in the pastel painting. ) A bit raw in places, but I like the statement and the feel and I am going to leave the painting this way. Speaks to me about the temporary nature of the beauty of flowers and their qualities of life and fragility.
