Oil on canvas, 50 x 80 cm, 2023. Cutting a rock reveals an intricate pattern of layers that have sedimented over very long periods of time. The succession of geological eras sees the depositing, one veil after another, of the materials that will create a complicated abstract embroidery. A sort of map is created which embodies the sense of the passage of time and the sense of the substance and of its weight.
