Painting in Oil on Canvas, above Papier Mache'.
Size: 130CM X 100CM.
The painting was inspired by the space shuttle Columbia disaster, and the seven astronauts who took part in the research.
The space shuttle took off from Earth and was launched into space on Jan 16, 2003.
The space shuttle crashed on: Feb 1, 2003.
And the seven astronauts perished in the disaster.

About the painting and the personal background.
I worked on the painting for an extended period of over three months, morning and evening, in my studio. long hours.
That period, which preceded this painting... At the same time, I am a mother of two boys.
The eldest son, whom I helped study during kindergarten to research, according to his personal choice at the time, the subject of the solar system, spaceships, and astronauts.
The experience, and the surprise of remotely following the first Israeli astronaut and the launch of the space shuttle, Columbia, was more significant due to my interest in the subject.
Thus the impact on me as a mother was greater.
I remember, how I felt as a family we excitedly waited for the Columbia landing, and to my unexpected sorrow.
My two sons, each in turn, dreamed of being an astronaut by the way.
For my younger son, this was his favorite painting in particular.. and he had a good idea of where it should be hung.
After twenty years... this piece has since been displayed in the "Museum of the Internet" on my official website (since 2003) and other websites where I have revealed it.
I was promised a respectable place for the painting... Years ago...It was only a promise.
I made several prints of 3 artworks inspired by Columbia's Disaster. Framed Prints were given at the Mayor's Office, and were hung there. And 3 prints were given at my son's school.
Thanks for viewing.
Love & Peace. Prayers for peace.
