The Agave is quite the bold plant with its long thick serrated leaves that come to a needle sharp point. In their lifetime they will shoot up only one massive stalk of very unique flowers, by doing this, they have expelled all of their energy and served their purpose in life. As they wither and die, new starts will sprout up from their root system. Tequila is made from the Agave plant as well as Agave sweeteners are now readily available. Copyright (c) Vicki K, Pelham
