The Birth of a Strategy

In this work i wanted to show a strategic moment and represent this as an explosive vibrating repitition of forms and shapes. The focus point is the pawn in the center as many layers of disguises are shed one by one. On the blue and black chess board i have raised this pawn upward symbolizing the importance of this strategic plan within the game. At the top of the pawn an explosive tree like flowering effect in the sky represents the culmination of this attack and strategy and the growth of sub-strategies that will branch out from this strategy. My first impression was Christmas when I looked at the picture and it's shades of red and green. ... after reading your discription, You can't judge a piece , book , person by their cover, for there is usually mult. layers underneath... anyway Justin... outstanding composition.

Thank goodness you take the time to explain your work--I'd be lost otherwise. I love the repetition of shape and colors; as well as the red and green checked spiral towards the bottom which is offset by the black and bluish board. The tree is a nice touch too. Very powerful piece, Justin. Very clever.

Like the peeling of an onion skin, the strategic forces of the inner thoughts ever in constant motion, shedding one shell to another, that's the game isn't it?! Like the sprigg in the center, a tinkling ornamentational fruit of fun n forethought. U r a challenge aren't u, Justin! n u never cease to entertain with the deepest meanings.
