Beauty in Decay

This is a photo of an overgrown window or perhaps a mirror covered with moss, algae and mud. It was left on the ground in front of the red cottage that is partly visible in the background.........in case you wondered. Sometimes the ugly can be beautiful! Andrew Rogers has written a beautiful poem for this image: Wheat frayed across the threshing floor like dead, little lightnings still twitching from heaven's fall. On the dusty, blue earth heard crickets, complaining that they were too young to die. Their strings fell silent, for the listening moon was replaced by Usil's harsher beam. It was under his gaze that they died; dying brittle and grey in the sun to decay. By night to blow, and by night to flake away.
