Artist Reply: thank you AL sorry for my belated reply ; these berries are from the same family than tomatoes and eggplants ; these BITTERSWEET BERRIES are not edible ;aLL parts of the plant are poisonous to humans and pets; ; Though birds and squirrels love them; . BIRDS eat the berries , depositing seeds everywhere wich had contributed to the spreed of the invasive bittersweet;. However there an other plant from the same family ORIENTAL BITTERSWEET ..( CELASTRUS ORBICULATUS) used as a medicinal plant made for lot of deseases you'd read more about this plant ORIENTAL BITTERSWEET . CELASTRUS ORBICULATUS
