This was fun! I mashed up a real topographical map of the Applegate Valley and adhered it to the surface of a rather large canvas. Then, out of the crevices and lumps formed by the paper, I invented false mountain ranges and valleys with paint. (If you look closely you might be able to see a little of the original map and print peeking out beneath the color.)
